Today marks a very special day – It’s been 3 years since SUBJAM, SPC was incorporated. As I look back on what we’ve accomplished so far, and look forward to what we have to accomplish in the future, I’m more determined than ever to “reach down and lift the crowd up,” as an incredibly talented artist once wrote.
‘Why does SJ exist? Why should I care?’
As a Social Purpose Corporation, SubJam’s charter outlines three foundational motivations. These motivations are to:
- Positively affect global music culture
- Support music communities
- Promote content under free/libre licenses
I’m proud to say that we are well on our way to accomplishing these three goals today. It’s not easy, it’s not cheap and it’s not quick… But imagine a tortoise in the grass, slowly but surely inching its way to victory. We will not stop, we will not waiver, we WILL provide a platform to stand on and proclaim, without compromise or hesitancy, who we are!
As we continue put one foot in front of the other, we’re joined by countless encouraging artists, music fans, venues and others that understand SubJam’s potential on a local and global scale.
If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s an interview I did not long ago with a local music scene podcast in my own hometown of Bellingham, Washington. It’s a great primer to everything SubJam.
Soon, we will be known around the world for helping people build their local music scenes, wherever they are. Thank you for being an early part of it all. Watch what we do next!
Cheers,
Jordan Erickson (founder)
